Limousine

One of the most popular and accomplished bands to come out of the Blackpool scene for many years, Limousine join Moonlight Radio on the release of their brand new album "The Boy With The Firework". You can find this cracking new release in our Listen Live section and a full track listing is available below. We urge you to keep an eye on this rising star of a band who we are certain will be a national (international?) sensation very soon. In their own words, Limousine would like to introduce themselves to you:

Formed in the early days of 2002, Limousine have fast become one of Blackpool¹s most talked about bands. Fusing together a myriad of melodic guitars, heart wrenching vocals and pounding rhythms, Limousine have proved themselves to be one of the best unsigned acts to come out of the North West.

Even with years of experience, limousine¹s sound stays fresh and creative bringing excitement and verve to the guitar based genre. Their live sets have become legendary thanks to their unprecedented stage performances.

Just two years on, and their innovative sound has taken the limo to such venues as London's 'Garage', and has seen them as firm favourites on the bill supporting the likes of 'Six by Seven' and 'Chris Helme' (The Seahorses).

The lads, came together after the untimely split of iota (former winners of Blackpool¹s infamous 'Rock Quest') and Goldframe, another leading face on the fylde's eclectic indie circuit. Drawing early influences from the great Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, and Motley Crue (Mark and Paul M!) Limousine's sound has evolved like a monkey with wings, breeding chimeric tracks such as: 'Live To Be Perfect', 'Hunting Season', and 'The Easy Way'.

Putting heart, soul and a big set of balls into their music undoubtedly makes Limousine the 'one's to watch'...

Limousine live at Jenx Blackpool 06/03/04

Tonight in Jenx Blackpool it¹s 'Jam' night, an evening dedicated to showcasing young hopefuls and their steady rise to stardom. The venue itself
is notorious among bands, earning itself the peculiar alias, 'The Tin Can' due to its' metallic walls which basically rattle like the crappers when anyone so much as touches a guitar. But novelty sound effects aside, The Room open the nights proceedings. Apparently hailing from Staffordshire a quick inspection of their website reveals a healthy set of gigs all over the country, and as the band take the stage it's easy to see why. Moving between melodic almost chill out dance, to pulsating, rhythmic stomp rockers the band certainly have a set of songs that would challenge any listener. Eclecticism is the order of the day and by the end of the show even the most skeptical onlookers are engrossed.

Headlining tonight it's homecoming heroes "Limousine" who have become heavyweights on the local scene for around a year or so. Suffice to say past gigs have provided The Limo, as they are affectionately known, with a dedicated fan base and a blindingly accomplished live show. Melody looms large in presence in all of the bands songs, carried by singer Mark's superb voice which equally caters for towering rock monsters or the more melodic of tunes, and both are clearly abundant in Limo's back catalogue. 'Sex Pest' is surely the best song about stalking ever written, and the fans are coaxed into a spot of stadium rock action, singing parts of the song instead of the band.

The 'hit single' 'Frequency' shimmers delightfully and is the highlight of the set, as with every hint of irony there is a hint of truth, and this song
wouldn't sound amiss in the Top 40 on a Sunday. Live favourite 'Fist?' brings an almost Nazi feel to the gig with much of the crowd gladly raising
their fists in a bizarre twisted salute during the chorus! 'Live To Be Perfect' was on the band's first single and still shines amongst all the
newer melodic bombs delivered here tonight. 'Extreme Moments' is the set closer and the crowd delight in Limo indulging in some stage trashing.

It has been a rockalicious gig with a great atmosphere, and a new set of fans have been picked up to boot. However this is only the beginning for Limo, here are tunes of such grace and charm that Limousine make a mockery of the media frenzy over the "hyped nonsense" in a certain music weekly every week, and quite frankly it¹s their loss.
