Voices In Your Head
Rui Reis (Roy Kings) - drums Though the date and exact location of his birth are uncertain, we do know that Rui was a member of a small tribe of natives in South America. Some time after ingesting a strange blue mushroom, Rui found himself on a cargo ship full of plantains headed for Portugal. Confused and disoriented, he tried to adjust to his new home, and subsisted solely on irregular plantains for several months. After blacking out from plantain overdose, he woke up in the hospital to find out that he had been diagnosed with severe amnesia, and the only thing he could remember from his past was how to play the drums. Tiago Maia (James Mayer) - bass Tiago is six feet, six inches tall (with heels) and dwells in a cave. Light terrifies him, and he has a rather unsettling attraction to the moon. He likes to take ladies of any size, color or cheese preference back to his cave and play his bass for them, convinced that the boomy reverberations act as an aphrodisiac. Tiago enjoys eating/drinking pastéis de nata, and his favorite body part is the neck. Mafalda Chandler - vox Mafalda was diagnosed at birth with obsessive-compulsive disorder when she demanded that the doctor who delivered her wash his hands immediately. She became embittered at the age of seven upon discovering the nonexistence of santa clause and a parking space in Lisbon. Mafalda began eating paper and especially ants. She once swallowed a piece of yellow plastic bag and for one week was convinced that Fidel Castro was her kid sister. Mafalda can blow air out of her eyes, and dreams of one day getting arrested for making obscene clay sculptures of talk show hosts. Jesse Chandler - keyboards and back vox Jesse woke up one day in a burlap sack in the middle of Central Park only to discover that he had forgotten to feed his pet oyster, Billykins. This was mildly disconcerting for him, until he realized that he was lying in a burlap sack in Central Park. In a state of panic, he checked himself into Bellevue Hospital, Psychiatric Ward, where he voraciously began to study the clarinet, violin, sackbut, and piano, eventually settling on the piano because the black and white keys calmed him. When the hospital could no longer control him, Jesse was shipped to Portugal, where the voices in his head would constantly tell him to start a rock band. His only problem was what to name the band. |
