If you live in the Colchester area and you're looking to learn guitar or bass in just about any style Guitarworks is the place to come. Carl Seager has been playing for...okay, 35 years and has a wealth of experience to offer. Current students vary widely in age and musical tastes (see Gallery). Abilities range from beginner to intermediate/advanced but all share the same learning method i.e. you bring along a CD of anything you wish to learn and Carl will teach you to play it. Simple, but it doesn't stop there. You will also be given the opportunity to RECORD what you learn onto CD. Students are also encouraged to learn enough about the other instruments involved to play/record those too (if you are a guitarist, for instance, you may wish to record your own bass and drums - vocals too if you like!) You will also be encouraged to CREATE your own music. Put in a nutshell you will be learning to PERFORM in your chosen field. Tablature is used widely but you will NOT be learning to READ music at Guitarworks - you will be learning to PLAY it.
